HEALTHY PET

Table of Contents

Scheduling routine exams, feeding a sound and nutritionally complete diet, maintaining an effective vaccine schedule, and giving regular preventatives is key to a pet’s health.

Young Pet Goals

Starting vaccines at appropriate ages and giving at the right intervals sets pets up for a healthy immune system.

Young Adult Goals

As pets get older, maintaining their health is key. This may include routine bloodwork yearly, dental cleanings starting at 3 years, and spaying or neutering.

The Aging Pet

Pets can be afflicted by age-related or breed- related conditions as they age. Cancer, kidney disease, dental disease, and diabetes are conditions that veterinarians can diagnose with testing and exams. Scheduling exams when there are changes to a pet’s health can be key in early detection.

Senior Years

Making sure your pet is healthy and happy in their senior years is of the greatest importance. Exams every 6 months may be recommended with yearly dental cleanings. At this age, each pet has different health requirements.
