National ID Your Pet

PURPOSE

Having your pet microchipped greatly increases their chances of making their way back home. It is not a GPS, but instead the chip carries a number that within a database, solely identifies as your pet.

WHEN TO DO IT?

Microchipping is generally recommended whenever! If you are bringing your pet in for surgery, we can do it then, but it can be done any time.

BENEFITS

Some microchips also read temperatures! This helps eliminate any unwanted or uncomfortable temperature checks at the vet and the chip does not expire.

UPDATES

Each time you move, your pet’s microchip should be updated. Staying vigilant about keeping information up to date is key!

Animal Identification

NATIONAL REGISTRY

National Animal Identification Center is the oldest registration for animals, but each microchipping company has their own database and system. We recommend utilizing as many as your family feels comfortable!

Reminders

The 4th of July is coming up, and that means more pets will go missing on this day than any other day in the year.

Make sure their microchip is up to date, or talk to us about getting one done!

Upcoming

  • National ID Your Pet Day is July 1st!
  • Independence Day July 4th! Have a plan to keep your pet calm and safe.
