Summer is a great time to explore the great outdoors with your furry friends! Here are
some great tips to help keep them safe as you adventure together!
Temperature
Keep an eye on the temp when you venture outside. Watch how your pet reacts at temps of 68f and upwards. When hot, change the time of day you go or pack a collapsible water bowl and a bottle of water to refresh on the way! Remember to take breaks and never leave them in a vehicle.
Bugs
There are a lot of creepy crawly bugs out there! Keep your pet protected with flea and tick preventatives along with heartworm /intestinal parasite meds! Ask about them today!
Camping and Traveling
Having your pet secured to you is ideal. Always keep a leash handy even in the backcountry in case you run into other hikers or dangerous terrain. If on the water, you should have a lifevest for your pet with a handle in case you need to help them out of the water. Make sure your tent/camper is closed all the way so your pet can not escape during the night. Lastly, always have your up-to-date contact information on their collar if you do get separated!

Storms are not always planned. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind if you have your furry friends with you. -have a small, sheltered space to make them feel comfortable- -have soothing music or treats to help distract during events -interact with them and stay calm to give them comfort.
